In 2024, Belgium registered 127,750 new fully electric vehicles, a 36% increase from the previous year, with electric and hybrid vehicles together surpassing 50% of new car sales. Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) alone accounted for 28.5% of the market. However, this growth is overwhelmingly driven by corporate fleets, which made up 86.7% of new BEV registrations, largely due to a federal tax policy allowing 100% tax deductibility for companies purchasing BEVs until 2026. This incentive is set to gradually decrease after 2026.
