Bugatti Tourbillon's monster V16 unleashes 1,800 hp, 9,000 rpm

Bugatti has unveiled the Tourbillon, a new hybrid hypercar that succeeds the Chiron and features a groundbreaking 8.3-liter naturally aspirated V16 engine developed in collaboration with Cosworth. This engine produces 1,800 horsepower and revs up to 9,000 rpm, marking a departure from the quad-turbocharged W16 engines used in previous models. The Tourbillon’s powertrain integrates this V16 with a hybrid system co-developed with Rimac, combining the combustion engine with three electric motors—two on the front axle and one integrated into the rear transmission—that collectively add 800 horsepower for a total output of 1,800 hp. The hybrid system is designed to enhance performance by providing instant torque at low speeds, reducing lag, and enabling advanced features like torque vectoring through the high-revving rear electric motor. A 24.8-kWh, 800-volt T-shaped battery pack is embedded into the carbon composite monocoque chassis to
