BYD has started exporting electric vehicles (EVs) manufactured at its Rayong factory in Thailand to Europe, marking a significant step in its global expansion. The first shipment consists of 959 BYD Dolphin EVs, a model positioned as a competitor to the Volkswagen ID.3, and is headed to Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Production at the Rayong facility began on July 4, 2024, with an annual capacity of up to 150,000 units, although current output is about 60,000 units per year, including other models like the Atto 3 SUV and Seal sedan.
