BYD is significantly expanding its electric vehicle (EV) presence in emerging markets such as Nepal, Malaysia, and Cambodia, reflecting growing EV adoption in regions often overlooked by mainstream coverage. In Nepal, BYD has introduced its Atto 2 model, marking the seventh BYD EV available in the country. The Atto 2, launched at a Kathmandu auto show in August 2025, offers a competitive range of 345 kilometers and a larger battery than its Chinese counterpart, priced at about $31,325. BYD’s Nepal lineup also includes models like the Atto 3, Dolphin, Seal, and M6 MPV, with the company having sold EVs there since 2018.
