Canada’s nuclear plant to add mighty turbine to power 300,000 homes

The GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy BWRX-300 small modular reactor (SMR) project at Ontario Power Generation’s Darlington Nuclear Generating Station in Canada will feature a key turbine island supplied by Arabelle Solutions, part of the EDF Group. Arabelle is providing the SMR’s nuclear steam turbine, the TOPAIR generator, and an associated heat exchanger. The turbine generator shaftline will be 34 meters long and include a high-pressure module and two low-pressure modules to enhance cycle efficiency.
