Nvidia has dramatically expanded its influence in the AI sector by significantly increasing its investments in AI startups since the rise of ChatGPT and other generative AI services. The company’s revenue, profitability, and stock price have surged, enabling it to participate in 49 AI funding rounds in 2024 alone—up from 34 in 2023 and 38 combined over the previous four years. This surge includes investments made both directly and through its corporate venture capital arm, NVentures, which also ramped up activity from 2 deals in 2022 to 24 in 2024.
