The Philippine Net Zero Conference 2025 convened on September 18 to address the country’s ambitious goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 75% by 2030. Co-hosted by the Net Zero Carbon Alliance (NZCA) and the Southeast Asia Corporate Decarbonization Exchange (CDx), the event brought together corporate leaders and policymakers to move beyond abstract climate commitments toward concrete, scalable technological and financial solutions for deep decarbonization. Despite legislative progress such as the Low Carbon Economy Investment (LCEI) Act, businesses face challenges including limited access to climate finance, a shortage of scalable technologies, and a lack of appropriate tools. The conference emphasized the urgency of climate action, highlighting the significant economic losses from extreme weather (around ₱200 billion annually) and positioning the green transition as an opportunity for economic growth, job creation, and improved energy security aligned with global ESG standards.
