Boren, a 62-year-old Trump megadonor with no prior government experience, has been a controversial figure due to his history of disputes with government agencies, including the USFS. Notably, Boren clashed with the Forest Service over activities in the Sawtooth National Forest and filed multiple defamation lawsuits against the agency. Video evidence also shows a helicopter registered to Boren flying near a Forest Service trail crew in a manner described as intimidating.
