While some automakers might temporarily offset this loss through other price reductions, factors like tariffs are expected to further squeeze profit margins. Additionally, the transition to Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) is creating new complications for EV owners, who may need multiple charging adapters (dongles) to access different charging networks. For example, GM has introduced several adapters to improve charging flexibility, but this comes at the cost of added complexity for consumers, especially households with multiple EVs.
