The company will invest $300 million in Lucid and commit to purchasing at least 20,000 of Lucid’s new Gravity SUVs over the next six years. These vehicles will be equipped with Nuro’s autonomous driving technology and operated by Uber or its third-party fleet partners. Production of the modified Lucid Gravity vehicles is expected to begin in late 2026, with Uber aiming to launch the robotaxi service in a major U.S. city as early as next year. Additionally, Uber is investing an undisclosed multi-hundred-million-dollar amount in Nuro, reportedly exceeding its investment in Lucid.
