US startup gets funding to build tool for humanoid robot teamwork

US startup OpenMind is developing software tools to enable humanoid robots to collaborate seamlessly across different manufacturers and environments. Their AI-native operating system, OM1, is hardware-agnostic and integrates perception, foundation models, memory, and contextual awareness to allow robots to interpret surroundings, understand natural language, and make real-time decisions. Complementing OM1 is FABRIC, a decentralized protocol that lets robots securely identify themselves, verify locations, and share data with unfamiliar machines, enabling real-time teamwork in open, multi-robot settings.
